Most “betting tips” articles are guesses about who will win tonight. This isn’t that. These are process tips — the habits that decide whether the same knowledge makes or loses money over a season on the exchange.
Bankroll first
- 1. Fix a bankroll you can lose. Decide the number before the season, deposit from it, and never top up mid-tilt.
- 2. Stake 1–3% per bet. At 2% a bet, a ten-bet losing run costs a fifth of your roll — painful, survivable. At 20% a bet, you’re out.

Think in value, not winners
- 4. Odds are a price, not a prediction. Backing a 1.5 favourite that should be 1.3 is good business; backing a 1.5 that should be 1.8 is charity.
- 5. Use the lay side. Sometimes you don’t know who wins — you know who doesn’t. Laying an overhyped team is the exchange’s biggest edge over bookmakers.
- 6. Specialise. One format (say, T20 session markets) followed closely beats shallow opinions on five sports.

- 7. Pre-decide your cash-out points. “I green-up if the odds halve” decided before the toss survives the adrenaline of the 18th over. Decided during it, it doesn’t.
- 8. Never chase within a match. A lost session is data, not an insult. The next over doesn’t owe you anything.
- 9. Beware the commentary. Commentators sell drama; the market sells probability. When they disagree, trust the market and your eyes.

- 10. Keep a record. Date, market, stake, odds, result, one-line reason. A month of honest records will teach you more than a year of forum tips.
